The Brief
During the building stage of the now-famous east end hang out, NOLA Adelaide ran an ambitious crowdfunding campaign: $15,000 to purchase and install 16 custom beer taps to bring bar goers a curated local range of oh-so-delectable craft beers. Undeterred by a glaring lack of subject matter (how do you get people excited about taps that don’t exist yet, in a place that is yet to be built?), our brief was to inspire the local booze loving community to get behind a cause they could raise a glass to.
The Concept
We honed in on the New Orleans inspired spirit of the upcoming venue, inviting viewers to get behind the brewing craft beer culture right here in little old Adelaide. Armed with an open concept and a flexible list of scenes, we hit the bars to capture those candid moments that can only be achieved after a beer (or three). The film was framed by interview snippets from the co-owners outlining their passion for the project, and featured a collection of scenes shot at small bar locations, in-studio, and even at a house party hosted by the boys behind the business, all layered with gritty post production techniques.
The Result
After smashing the $15,000 crowdfunding target, this campaign went on to feature in a dozen articles in local magazines, helped cement the bar’s industry credibility, and laid the foundation for an enduring creative relationship with Red Fox Films.
